The Pure Power for Lochbroom project finished on 31st December 2014.
Thank you to everyone who was involved
The community survey demonstrated that local people consider energy conservation in private buildings and renewable energy to be very important issues and opportunities. As a result of the survey and local interest in energy efficiency and renewable energy UCT were able to secured £67 000 from the Climate Challenge Fund to develop the Pure Power for Lochbroom project. Funding has allowed the Trust to employ a development officer who will provide assistance and support to local residents who are keen to install either renewable energy systems or energy efficiency measures.
At the end of 2012 UCT appointed Laura Traynor as the development officer for Pure Power project. Laura has a background in Energy Economics with a focus on energy efficiency and household heating expenditures. She has also worked for a renewable energy installer based in Stirling, giving her an excellent knowledge of products, regulatory standards, and installation procedures.
