A key condition of UCT and the Local Development Officer under the Growth at the Edge initiative is to produce a Community Growth Plan which outlines the main issues, concerns and opportunities raised and suggested by local people. Growth at the Edge also requires the plan to set out projects and results residents want delivered over the next 5-10 years.
The Ullapool Community Growth Plan was formally adopted at the UCT AGM on the 7th of September 2012 in the Ceilidh Place. The plan (which is available to view below) now offers the Trust a clear direction and focus on specific projects which we will look to take forward with the community over the coming years. Implementing the plan will require UCT, its focus groups, local groups, organisations such as HIE and Highland Council and most importantly the community to work together to develop and deliver the projects.
All the issues, concerns, opportunities and projects include in the plan were identified by extensive community consultation which has been carried out since 2010. This included a survey, open day, focus group meetings, leafleting and general feedback and discussions. Findings and reports of the various consultations are available to view here. The Trust will continue to consult and discuss with local people and groups and ensure that the Ullapool Community Growth Plan is regularly updated as local issues and opportunities change.

Hard copies of the CGP are available from the Ullapool Library and the Elphin Community Hall as well as from our office in the harbour building.
