Working with You
UCT also delivers discrete projects that bring economic, environmental or social benefit to our remit area. All of our work is community led, and we consult and engage with our communities on a continuous basis, in order to highlight areas of regeneration or development which are most wanted or needed by our residents.
UCT is setting up a community benefit fund, the fund will help distribute the surplus income generated from community projects back into the local area. The benefit fund is expected to be operational by October 2018. Local groups and projects will be able to apply to the fund, in order to ‘Kick-Start’ new projects, or to apply for revenue and capital to support existing initiatives!
UCT acts as an ‘anchor organisation’ which means that we often support other third sector, voluntary or not-for-profit groups. Sometimes these groups have limited capacity to employ their own staff, or they may need advice on how to set-up projects and bring in investment, they may also use the Trust to undertake initial feasibility work into projects that they believe will benefit our communities.
As a Development Trust we can offer advice and support to other community groups, individuals and social enterprises. If you have an idea within our community and want to start a non-profit organisation, or if you are a group looking for help and advice with community engagement, funding applications or third sector project management – then get in touch!
Volunteer With Us
We have lots of volunteering opportunities over a range of diverse projects. If you are looking to help the community, build your skills or boost your C.V, or if you just have a strong interest in one of our areas of development. Then a flexible volunteering role, within one of our many working groups, would be perfect for you.
